Catherine Alice Lenta Langford – always Kit to friends and family – died peacefully in the Royal Gwent Hospital on 20 December 2014, following a short illness. She had no regrets and was happy with her long, rich life. Kit is survived by her sons David (born 1953) and Jonathan (born 1957). Her beloved husband Denis George Langford died in 2001.
The funeral service and celebration of Kit's life will be held at 1pm on Friday 9 January 2015 at St Martin-in-the-Gaer, Newport, the church she had attended since its completion in 1957: Jon was the first baby christened there. The Reverend Canon Jennifer Mole will conduct the service. All Kit's many friends and acquaintances are welcome.
Afterwards there will be a further service for close friends and family at 2pm in the Gwent Crematorium, followed by tea, coffee and cakes in memory of Kit at the nearby Upper Cock Inn.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Barnardo's, one of Kit's favourite charities: here is their "Donate in memory" page.
